The Origin

The arrival of a brand new year often inspires people to reflect on themselves, their lives, and their goals for that new year. The past 2.5 yrs have been the hardest of my life - sprinkled with death, stress, and heartache. But there has also been happiness and joy that I shouldn't allow to be overshadowed. So, this year, I am making a different kind of resolution. It will be a test of extended compassion. I will call it, "52 Random Acts of Kindness". This alternative attempt at a New Year’s resolution is a promise I make to myself to bring happiness to others with my own personal touch.

In my mind, here is how it will work: In 2016, I will perform at least 52 random act of kindness (one for each week) for someone - be it for a stranger or for someone I know. I will post about that act in this album. You may follow along, if you like, by liking this album. My goal is not to brag or boast, but to inspire. Some acts may be small, some acts may be big. I feel this is a chance to create a positive chain reaction with a powerful outcome no matter how big or small the gesture.

I have no idea where this journey will lead me. But I have no doubt that, by the time December 31, 2016 rolls around, I will have been greatly blessed. And when that day comes, and I review these 52 acts of the past year, it is the negative that will be overshadowed by the Light, the happiness, and the blessings.
